Beyond Yoga Clothing Review: Are Their Leggings Worth the Hype?

As a yoga teacher always seeking the perfect pair of leggings, I had to put Beyond Yoga to the test. I tried several of their Spacedye leggings and a cropped tank to see if they lived up to the hype. Trying Out Beyond Yoga Leggings and Tank
For this review, Beyond Yoga generously gifted me the Spacedye Caught in the Midi High Waisted Legging in Darkest Night, Spacedye At Your Leisure High Waisted Midi Legging in Black/Charcoal, and Spacedye Slim Racerback Cropped Tank in Black/White.
The leggings arrived neatly folded and upon first touch, I could immediately feel how smooth and soft the fabric was. It felt luxurious and had a nice weight to it, thicker than most leggings but not too heavy.
Spacedye Leggings Review
I was really excited to try the Spacedye leggings since this is Beyond Yoga‘s signature fabric. It‘s a blend of polyester and lycra that is ridiculously soft with a smooth, seamless finish. Spacedye is designed for 4-way stretch, moisture-wicking, and light compression with a slight sheen.
Both legging styles fit true to size for me. I‘m typically a medium in most activewear brands and the medium fit perfectly. The Spacedye Caught in the Midi has a 5" high waist that hits right above my belly button. It hugged my curves without digging in or creating any muffin top. The midi length hit a couple inches above my ankles.
The Spacedye At Your Leisure leggings have a slightly thicker high waist panel with a cute v-shaped detail in the front and back. These felt a bit more snug and compressive in the waist. I loved the way both made my legs and butt look – they definitely passed the squat test!
For my first workout in the Spacedye Caught in the Midi leggings, I wore them to hot yoga. The class was 60 minutes in a 105°F room, so I really put these leggings to the sweat test. I‘m happy to report they did not disappoint!
The leggings stayed put throughout the entire class and didn‘t budge or slide down as I flowed through poses. The fabric wicked away sweat and kept me feeling dry and comfortable. By the end of class, the leggings were damp but not soaked through or see-through at all. They also dried very quickly – within about 30 minutes of leaving the hot room.
Next, I wore the Spacedye At Your Leisure leggings to a HIIT workout involving lots of jumping, squats, and burpees. Again, the leggings stayed in place perfectly and I didn‘t have to tug at them once. The compression felt great and held everything in without feeling too tight or restrictive. I never worried about my leggings being see-through while bending over or jumping.
Spacedye Slim Racerback Cropped Tank Review
To go with my leggings, I tried the Spacedye Slim Racerback Cropped Tank. It has a fitted silhouette that is cropped to hit above the belly button. The racerback style allows for full range of motion in the arms and shoulders.
I love this tank for low to medium impact activities like yoga, Pilates, weight training, and hiking. It‘s definitely one of the softest workout tanks I own. The Spacedye fabric feels silky smooth against the skin and wicks away sweat to keep me dry.
For bigger busts, this slim fit tank may feel a bit snug and compressive. I‘m a 34D and felt very secure in it for yoga and Pilates. However, I probably would size up or choose a different style for high impact activities like HIIT or running as I prefer more room in the chest for those.
