My Honest Sakara Life Review: Is This Celeb-Loved Wellness Brand Worth the Hype?

As someone who has struggled with disordered eating, fatigue, and digestion issues for years, I‘m always on the lookout for a wellness reset to get my mind and body back on track. So when I heard about Sakara Life, the plant-based meal delivery service and lifestyle brand beloved by celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow and Lily Aldridge, I knew I had to give it a try.

Sakara was founded in 2011 by best friends and soul sisters Whitney Tingle and Danielle Duboise. Both women had struggled for years with their own health issues, from cystic acne to yo-yo dieting to an eating disorder that landed Danielle in the ER. Desperate for a change, Danielle enrolled in nutrition school while Whitney began experimenting with a plant-based diet. Together, they started cooking up vibrant organic meals in their NYC kitchen for themselves and a handful of clients.

Fast forward a decade later, and Sakara Life has blossomed into a wellness empire with over 85 employees, two commercial kitchens, a celeb clientele, and a devoted #SakaraLife following of over 500K on Instagram. But Sakara is about so much more than just dropping pounds or looking good in a bikini. The Sakara philosophy is rooted in the science of nutritional alchemy, which views food as medicine to heal your body on a cellular level.

Every Sakara meal, product, and program is intentionally designed by holistic health experts to flood your body with nutrients, pre- and probiotics, hydration, and "clean" healing ingredients. Unlike other detoxes or diets, nothing is about deprivation or counting calories. The goal is to get you glowing from the inside out while balancing your energy and recalibrating your mind-body connection.

As someone who has been burned by quick-fix juice cleanses in the past, I was initially skeptical if Sakara could live up to the hype. But after doing this Sakara Life review and trying it firsthand, I can confidently say that this isn‘t your average meal delivery service. Here‘s my honest take on all things Sakara: the good, the not-so-good, and everything in between.

Sakara Meal Delivery Review

The core of Sakara is their organic, ready-to-eat meal delivery, which is like having your own personal vegan chef and nutritionist. There are three programs to choose from based on your health goals and commitment level:

Signature Nutrition Program

Best for: Flexibility and customization
What‘s included: Your choice of up to 3 meals per day, 2-5 days per week. Optional add-ons like breakfast, snacks, and supplements.
Cost: Starting at $70/day for 3 meals, with discounted rates for recurring subscriptions.

This is Sakara‘s most popular plan and the one I tried in my review. With the weekly subscription, you can choose which meals you want, pause or cancel anytime. I appreciated the flexibility to double up on my favorite lunches to take to work or scale back to just dinners on busier weeks.

Level II Detox

Best for: Doing a deep cleanse and resetting your system
What‘s included: 3 meals per day, 5 days per week, plus teas, supplements, and health coaching.
Cost: $400 for a one-time 5 day program

This is like the boot camp version of Sakara, geared towards busting through a plateau or prepping for a big event. In addition to the 100% plant-based meals, you‘ll get detoxifying teas, water drops, bars, and medical-grade supplements to take daily. I didn‘t try this myself, but I‘ve read rave reviews from people who noticed increased energy, better digestion, and glowier skin afterwards.

Bridal Program

Best for: Looking and feeling your best on your big day
What‘s included: 3 meals per day, 5 days per week for 4 weeks leading up to your wedding. Plus wellness coaching, workouts, and bridal gifts.
Cost: $1,395

Let‘s face it, weddings are stressful enough without also worrying about your weight or skin. Sakara‘s Bridal Program is pricey but takes all the guesswork out of your pre-wedding nutrition. Knowing everything you‘re eating is organic, nutritionist-designed, and working to make you feel amazing can be priceless when you‘re already juggling a mile-long to-do list.

So which program did I end up trying for this Sakara review? I went with the Signature Program and signed up for a weekly subscription of 3 meals a day, 5 days a week. Here‘s what I loved and what I think could be improved about Sakara‘s meals:

Pros

So convenient and takes the stress out of meal planning and cooking
Healthy meals that are also delicious and satisfying – favourites were the Sakara Earth Bowl and Probiotic Kefir Parfait
Plant-based but not lacking in protein thanks to ingredients like lentils and hemp seeds
Noticed improved digestion, energy, and skin after a few days
Felt like I was feeding my body the best quality nutrients and superfoods
Loved the surprises like beauty chocolates and detox teas thrown in

Cons

Pricier than buying groceries, so harder to sustain long-term
Some meals were hit and miss (like the seed "sushi")
Portion sizes varied, sometimes left me feeling hungry
Can get repetitive week to week
More packaging waste than cooking yourself

Overall, I was really impressed by the quality, nutrition, and yes, taste of Sakara meals. I‘m a vegan skeptic, but I found everything to be satisfying and full of flavor. Standouts were the Sakara Earth bowl, probiotic kefir parfaits, and Thai burger wraps.

After just a week on the program, I noticed my digestion improving, my energy picking up, and a "glow" to my skin that I hadn‘t seen before. I chalk it up to flooding my body with such nutrient-dense superfoods after years of yo-yo dieting. Not going to lie, I did feel hungry some days, but that‘s where the beauty chocolates and detox teas saved me.

At around $70 per day for 3 meals, Sakara is definitely a splurge compared to my usual grocery bill. But you get what you pay for in terms of quality, convenience, and nutrition. If you‘re looking to break out of a food rut, heal your relationship with food, or just feel your best without any guesswork, I do think Sakara is worth it. Maybe not forever, but a week or month on the plan can be a great reset.

Sakara Clean Boutique Review

While the meal delivery is the backbone of Sakara, their Clean Boutique has also become a fan favorite for all things beauty and wellness. I had a chance to review some of their bestsellers and here are my thoughts:

Metabolism Super Powder

This chocolate powder is like hot cocoa with benefits. It‘s formulated with feel-good ingredients like celery seed, gymnema, L-glutamine and pre/probiotics to curb cravings, debloat, and rev your metabolism. I loved mixing it into my morning matcha or coffee for an extra boost. $90

Detox Water Drops

Think of these like a power-up for your water. You just add a full dropper to your H20 and sip throughout the day. The star ingredient is chlorophyll, which is a green pigment found in plants that‘s super detoxifying and energizing. It definitely helped me stay hydrated and glowing all day. $39

Detox Bars

I basically always have one of these in my purse now for hangry moments. They‘re a sweet treat made with clean ingredients like cashews, coconut, and goji berries. But they also have detoxifying superfoods and 10g protein to keep you full. The Pumpkin Spice one tastes like fall in a bar. From $29

Beauty Chocolates

Can confirm that these actually made my skin more radiant after a few days. They‘re made with raw cacao which is rich in antioxidants, plus collagen-boosting tocos, ceramides, and ALA. I savored 1-2 as an afternoon pick-me-up. A little pricey but the bag does last a while. $45

Probiotics

With 11 strains and 15 billion CFUs, this is a legit probiotic for rebalancing your gut. I‘ve tried a lot of probiotics over the years for my digestion and this is one of the few that I noticed a difference with. My bloating went down and I was more regular after taking it daily for a few weeks. $46

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the Clean Boutique products I tried for this Sakara review. From the detox bars to the beauty chocolates, everything not only worked but tasted delicious too. I do think they‘re pricey for everyday use. But if you‘re looking to treat yourself or need that extra boost, the quality and results are there.

Sakara Detox Tea Review

Finally, I have to shout out Sakara‘s signature detox teas, which are like drinkable self-care in cute pink packaging. I tried all three and here‘s the tea on the teas:

Detox Tea

This is Sakara‘s og and bestselling tea for a reason. It has a light floral minty taste and is packed with detoxifying ingredients like lemongrass, rose, and red clover. I sipped on it throughout the day and it kept my bloat in check. $20

Digestive Tea

With a bright peppermint and ginger flavor, this one is great after meals to aid digestion and soothe your stomach. The melissa leaf and lemon balm also help calm any anxiety or stress. I drank it nightly and noticed my heartburn improving. $20

Sleep Tea

If you‘re a restless sleeper like me, you need this tea. It has a mellow chamomile taste and is formulated with valerian root and catnip to lull you to sleep. I steeped a cup an hour before bed and honestly haven‘t slept this well in ages. $20

All of Sakara‘s teas are 100% organic and caffeine-free, so you can sip on them any time of day. They‘re a small but mighty part of the Sakara lifestyle to help you feel your best inside and out. I loved the ritual of taking a moment for myself to brew a cup. At $20 each they‘re definitely a luxury, but the bags do last a while.

Is Sakara Worth It? My Verdict

So after all that, you‘re probably wondering if Sakara is worth the hype and the hefty price tag. After trying it for myself, my answer is honestly…it depends. I don‘t think Sakara is for everyone or realistic to do 24/7. But if you‘re in a place to invest in your health and wellbeing, I do think Sakara can be lifechanging.

The meals are pricey, but you‘re paying for quality, convenience, and nutrition that‘s hard to find or recreate on your own. For me, it was less about losing weight and more about feeling good in my body again after years of struggling. Sakara retrained me to see food as nourishment and self-care, not deprivation or stress. That shift in mindset was worth every penny.

That said, you don‘t need to commit to the full meal program to benefit from Sakara. Even just adding their clean snacks, teas, and supplements made a difference in my energy and glow. I also love following their free recipes and wellness tips on the Sakaralite blog and social media.

At the end of the day, only you know what‘s realistic for your body, budget, and lifestyle. But if you‘re ready for a wellness reboot and want to experience the Sakara Life for yourself, I say go for it. Take advantage of their starter programs, subscription discounts, and refer-a-friend perks to save some green.

I hope this honest Sakara review helped shed some light on whether it‘s right for you. I know I‘ll be coming back to Sakara whenever I need a reset and I‘m excited to keep living that #SakaraLife glow beyond the meal deliveries. Here‘s to feeding your body with the love it deserves, one Sakara bite (or sip) at a time!
