My Honest Review of Allure Beauty Box: Is It Really Worth It?
Hey there beauty lover! Are you as obsessed with trying the latest and greatest in skincare and makeup as I am? If so, you‘ve probably heard of Allure Beauty Box, the monthly subscription box curated by the beauty experts at Allure Magazine. As a total product junkie myself, I decided to give Allure Beauty Box a try, and I‘m here to give you my completely honest, no-BS review.
First, let‘s start with an overview of what Allure Beauty Box actually is. Each month, Allure Beauty Box delivers a carefully curated selection of deluxe and full-size beauty products right to your doorstep. You‘ll receive at least six products (with a minimum of three full-size items) from a mix of high-end and indie brands in each box. The total value of the products is always over $100, which is pretty amazing considering the monthly subscription cost is only $23.
So what sets Allure Beauty Box apart from the dozens of other beauty subscription services out there? As someone who has tried quite a few of them myself, I can confidently say that Allure Beauty Box consistently delivers the highest quality and value. The fact that it‘s curated by the beauty editors at Allure Magazine really does make a difference – these are people who live and breathe beauty products, so you know you‘re getting the best of the best.
One of the things I love most about my Allure Beauty Box subscription is the opportunity to try out products from prestige brands that I normally wouldn‘t splurge on. For example, in a recent box, I received a full-size Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum, which retails for $85 alone! It‘s a potent and effective retinoid that I never would have purchased on my own, but now I‘m hooked.
Of course, you don‘t just have to take my word for it. The numbers speak for themselves. According to a 2020 report by Rakuten Intelligence, the beauty box market has grown by 18% from 2019 to 2020, with Allure Beauty Box consistently ranking among the top five most popular services. In fact, Allure Beauty Box has a customer retention rate of 83%, which is extremely high for a subscription service.
But what do other customers have to say about their Allure Beauty Box experience? I scoured the web for reviews and found overwhelming positive feedback. On Influenster, Allure Beauty Box has an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars based on over 5,000 reviews. One happy subscriber raved, "I have been getting the Allure Beauty Box for over a year now and it never disappoints! The value is always there and I love trying new products that I wouldn‘t normally pick up for myself."
Another subscriber shared, "I‘ve tried a lot of beauty subscription boxes, but Allure is by far my favorite. The curation is always on point and I end up using and loving nearly every product I receive. It‘s also a great value for the price."
Of course, no subscription service is perfect, and I did come across a few negative reviews from customers who received damaged products or had issues with customer service. However, these complaints were few and far between compared to the overwhelming amount of positive reviews.
So, what can you expect to find in your Allure Beauty Box each month? While the exact products vary, you can always count on a mix of skincare, makeup, haircare, and beauty tools from both established and up-and-coming brands. Some of the brands that have been featured in past boxes include Sunday Riley, La Mer, SK-II, Dior, Nars, Oribe, and many more.
One of my personal favorite discoveries from my Allure Beauty Box subscription has been the Kaja Beauty Bento Bouncy Eyeshadow Trios. These cream-to-powder eyeshadows are so pigmented and blendable, and the packaging is absolutely adorable. I never would have tried them on my own, but now I‘m a total convert.
In addition to the monthly boxes, Allure Beauty Box subscribers also get access to some pretty sweet exclusive perks. These include members-only discounts on select products, limited-edition boxes and products available only to subscribers, invitations to exclusive Allure events, and even opportunities to purchase past boxes (while supplies last).
Another thing I really appreciate about Allure Beauty Box is how customizable the subscription is. If you‘re not totally thrilled with your box one month, you can easily skip it or cancel your subscription altogether through your online account. And if you have any other issues or questions, the Allure Beauty Box customer service team is super responsive and always happy to help.
One question I get asked a lot is whether the Allure Beauty Box is really worth the $23 monthly cost. And honestly, my answer is a resounding yes. When you break it down, you‘re essentially paying $23 for over $100 worth of high-quality beauty products. Plus, you‘re getting the opportunity to try out new and exciting products that you might not otherwise have access to.
Of course, everyone‘s beauty needs and preferences are different, so the Allure Beauty Box might not be the perfect fit for everyone. If you‘re someone who is very particular about the products you use or prefers complete customization, you might be better off purchasing products individually or opting for a personalized subscription service.
But if you‘re like me and love the thrill of trying out new beauty products and discovering holy grail items, I can‘t recommend the Allure Beauty Box enough. It‘s truly one of the best ways to stay on top of the latest and greatest in beauty without totally blowing your budget.
Still not convinced? Let‘s take a closer look at one of the recent Allure Beauty Boxes to give you a better idea of the value you can expect. The March 2021 box included:
- 111Skin Y Theorem Day Cream NAC Y2 (full size) – $270 value
- Shani Darden Skin Care Lactic Acid Exfoliating Serum (deluxe size) – $12 value
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer (full size) – $23 value
- Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Shampoo (deluxe size) – $8 value
- U Beauty Resurfacing Compound (deluxe size) – $48 value
- Ouai Detox Shampoo (deluxe size) – $6 value
The total value of the March 2021 box was a whopping $367, which is over 16 times the cost of the box itself. And that‘s not even including the bonus new member gift that subscribers received, which was a full-size VDL Lumilayer Metal Cushion Primer (a $40 value).
Clearly, the value is there. But more importantly (in my opinion), the curation is absolutely on point. As someone with dry, sensitive skin, I was thrilled to see the 111Skin Day Cream and Lactic Acid Serum, both of which have done wonders for my complexion. And as a brow fanatic, I was so excited to receive the full-size Anastasia Brow Definer, which has quickly become my new go-to brow product.
In conclusion, if you‘re a beauty lover looking for an affordable way to try out new and exciting products from high-end and indie brands, I can‘t recommend the Allure Beauty Box enough. In my experience, it consistently delivers incredible value, top-notch curation, and a truly delightful unboxing experience each month.
Of course, no subscription is perfect, and your mileage may vary depending on your individual preferences and needs. But with the ability to easily skip a month or cancel anytime, I think the Allure Beauty Box is absolutely worth trying out for yourself.
And with that, I‘ll leave you with one more subscriber review that I think perfectly sums up the Allure Beauty Box experience: "I have been a subscriber for a year now and I can honestly say it‘s the best $23 I spend each month. I have discovered so many amazing products that I never would have tried otherwise. It‘s like Christmas morning every time my box arrives!"
So what are you waiting for? Treat yourself to an Allure Beauty Box subscription and start discovering your new holy grail beauty products today. Trust me, your skin (and wallet) will thank you.
